1: A Flame is Lit

"Are you sure about this?" Jim Harper,as Guardian,asked,cradling the one-year-old redhead in his hands. "She's so young."

"Her mother abandoned her" Roy,the father of Roy Harper Jr., explained. "But I'm not. I'm leaving her in your care to train her. I'll take her back soon."

"You...you think I can take care of a kid with fire powers when I've got a world to save?! Trust me,I can't--"the man tried to speak,but he was cut off by his brother.

"Yes,you can"Roy said,shooting sharp daggers into his eyes. "I want you train her. I want you to help her CONTROL it."

There was a pause that Jim took advantage of. Why did he have to take care of his brother's kid? Why couldn't he just hand her to his niece's mother? Why not hand him to Superman? But as he looked at the young girl's almost purple eyes,due to some faint red,he saw one thing:life. And being unable to control fire...she might ruin that sense of life.

"It would be my pleasure,Roy."
